Why Hunome?

Throughout human history, us humans have strived to comprehend the significance of our existence.

We have endeavored ceaselessly to understand what it means to be human.

As part of this quest for understanding, humanity has launched a multitude of inquiries (religious and scientific, philosophical and artistic) into the meaning and plight of human existence.

• We have, through our scientists, attempted to reduce the complexities of human existence to the basic parts and processes to help us understand.
• Through our philosophers and spiritual leaders we have embraced a holistic sense of self and the universe in an attempt to shed some light.
• To our great artists we have turned for challenging and sometimes painful insights into the human condition.
• From our business leaders we have sought ever-new innovations and technologies to help improve our lives.

...and yet, the quest is not complete.

The layers of understanding, changes within and without and our many expressions of who we are mean that while some things can be fundamental and relatively stable there are many others, which are fluctuating in the river of life.

These ideas and thoughts are in the four corners of the world. Those who need this kind of input to their work or leisure pursuits find it to be a chore to find the relevant knowledge.

Perhaps the one and only undisputed conclusion of any of these endeavours is that, whilst humanity is progressing, the quest for understanding is far from over (perhaps only just beginning) – and a great many of the mysteries human life remain unsolved.

What is Hunome?

Hunome is a site for people who wish to gain a better or new perspective, becoming more perceptive, understanding people for professional, intellectual or personal (both serious and fun) purposes .

Gradually over 2010 Hunome will reveal the various aspects of its emerging functionality, invite more participants to join and deepen Hunome view to humanity. We envisage this process taking most of 2010 and will continue beyond the official opening of Hunome’s doors to the broader public.
